BASIC NOTES

Uranium Companies

There are very few pure uranium companies. Most companies, especially the small exploration type, are active in more than the uranium industry. This blog makes no attempt to guage the percentage of a companies activity that are related to the finding, mining or processing of uraniun. They all do, however, have some uranium activities (to the best of our review).

Merv's Uranium Indices

I have developed two Uranium Indices. They each have the same component stocks but are calculated using different methodologies. My weekly Index is based upon the average weekly performance of the component stocks. My daily Index is based upon the daily average of the component stocks open, high, low and close prices along with the daily average volume of all component stocks.

MERV'S GOLD & SILVER 100 INDEX TABLE

Merv’s Gold & Silver 100 Index Table

The tables above are the Merv’s Gold & Silver 100 Index Table. It includes the top 100 gold and silver stocks traded on the North American markets, based upon market value. I promised to post this table here in the Uranium blog as my most convenient place, for those that might be interested.

I would not be surprised if I may have missed a stock or two that should be in this Index. I would appreciate any corrections as I am trying to ensure that this table represents the top 100 gold and silver stocks. You may contact me at the following e-mail address,
mervburak@gmail.com.

For those who may not fully understand the information in this table I mention a tutorial (see left side of front page of this blog) located in my Precious Metals Central web site. This provides most information required to understand the info in the table. A quickie summation is provided below.

The first several columns of information are self explanatory.

There are three groups of columns, short term, intermediate term and long term. Each has the same information except directed for that particular time period.

We have the moving average (MA) with a + or – to indicate if the moving average is heading higher or lower.

We have a momentum (MOM) indicating if it is in its positive (POS) or negative (NEG) zone. Preceding the POS/NEG are + or – symbols to indicate if the momentum is improving (+) or getting weaker (-).

We have the % performance (PERF.) of each stock in each time period. The + or – symbol AFTER the % performance indicates if the performance is continuing to improve (+) or if it is continuing to get weaker (-).

Lastly, we have my technical rating (RATE) for each stock for each time period. This goes from BULLISH (POS) to BEARISH (NEG) through three neutral ratings (+N, N, -N).

That’s about it.
