BASIC NOTES

Uranium Companies

There are very few pure uranium companies. Most companies, especially the small exploration type, are active in more than the uranium industry. This blog makes no attempt to guage the percentage of a companies activity that are related to the finding, mining or processing of uraniun. They all do, however, have some uranium activities (to the best of our review).

Merv's Uranium Indices

I have developed two Uranium Indices. They each have the same component stocks but are calculated using different methodologies. My weekly Index is based upon the average weekly performance of the component stocks. My daily Index is based upon the daily average of the component stocks open, high, low and close prices along with the daily average volume of all component stocks.

Market Data

Open: 231.27
High: 238.22
Low: 228.46
Close: 235.37
Volume: 12784

Note that the volume is an average volume of round lot sales for the 50 component stocks. For total volume, multiply by 5000.

When things continue to go the right way what can a person say? Just shut up and pretend you knew it all along. I guess one should just sit back and enjoy the trend.

The Merv’s Daily Uranium Index closed once more on the up side by 4.79 points or 2.08%. There were 35 winners, 8 losers and 7 stocks going nowhere, mostly because they trade on the U.S. exchanges and those exchanges were having a turkey. Cameco gained 1.6%, Denison gained 8.1%, Extract gained 4.2%, Paladin gained 5.9% and Uranium One gained 9.7%. The best winner of the day was Rockgate Capital with a gain of 23.3% while the loser of the day was Mawson with a loss of 6.5%. Market Vectors Nuclear Energy ETF was having a turkey.

The indicator today was a price Rate of Change indicator, just for a change of pace. What this indicator is showing is the % gain in the stock price over the previous 50 days, as a moving value.
The week-end will see a full analysis, just enjoy while the trend continues higher.
