BASIC NOTES

Uranium Companies

There are very few pure uranium companies. Most companies, especially the small exploration type, are active in more than the uranium industry. This blog makes no attempt to guage the percentage of a companies activity that are related to the finding, mining or processing of uraniun. They all do, however, have some uranium activities (to the best of our review).

Merv's Uranium Indices

I have developed two Uranium Indices. They each have the same component stocks but are calculated using different methodologies. My weekly Index is based upon the average weekly performance of the component stocks. My daily Index is based upon the daily average of the component stocks open, high, low and close prices along with the daily average volume of all component stocks.

SOME URANIUM STOCKS

SOME URANIUM STOCKS

I don’t have time to really provide a decent analysis of these stocks but I thought I’d show a few today as it looks like the move is on. Just a very brief comment is provided against each. You should ask your broker or investment advisor about any stocks of interest.

Cameco (T-CCO)

The top of the quality as far as uranium stocks are concerned. It seems that CCO has just made a new break-out and could be considered a buy for conservative accounts.

Paladin (T-PDN)

A point & figure break-out last Nov at $2.40 with an initial projection to $5.40. A subsequent second projection was possible in March to the $8.60 level. A move to $5.00 would confirm a new move in progress but aggressive speculators might get in earlier.

UEX Corp. (T-UEX)

A break-out today with the moving averages and momentum going positive. The 15 DMAw line has not yet moved above the intermediate term line for confirmation but that should come in a few days.

Ucore Uranium Inc. (V-UCU)

Just thought I’d throw this one in. Since its low in Dec to today’s close UCU made a 3100% move. Now this is what everyone is looking for, but at the beginning, not after the move.

Man, been waiting awhile for that crossover. Whew, that was a sticky 10 days from the bottom.

Lets just hope that this crossover, has the same kind of action that occurred when it last crossed in March.

The index moved up 50% on that cross, from 130, before topping at 195. A 50% move from here gets us pretty close to your 300 call Merv.

This is looking extremely bullish to me.

Maybe we can get a little bump in spot next week to keep it going.

Or maybe somebody already knows something which is driving the increased speculation?

What do you think?
