BASIC NOTES
Uranium Companies
There are very few pure uranium companies. Most companies, especially the small exploration type, are active in more than the uranium industry. This blog makes no attempt to guage the percentage of a companies activity that are related to the finding, mining or processing of uraniun. They all do, however, have some uranium activities (to the best of our review).
Merv's Uranium Indices
I have developed two Uranium Indices. They each have the same component stocks but are calculated using different methodologies. My weekly Index is based upon the average weekly performance of the component stocks. My daily Index is based upon the daily average of the component stocks open, high, low and close prices along with the daily average volume of all component stocks.

Merv's Daily Uranium Table 11 June 2009

It may be getting close to a new uptrend starting. Instead of picking one or two individual stocks of interest I though the best thing to do is post the Daily Index Table which gives you the technical information needed to greatly reduce your risk of error for 50 different stocks, based upon the DAILY trading data. Here you have the short and intermediate term information I have often mentioned as suggestions for trading signals. Note that the Weekly Table posted on the weekends does not provide good short term data as it is based uopoin only the Friday close and should not be used for short term signals.
If you have been paying attention to the commentaries over time then this table should be of great benefit. Otherwise, ???

Merv....thanks for the daily chart. It is nice to actually have something to contemplate within the sector, holding all trend timelines.
Question about your length of terms. What are the time durations. Short 10day, Intermediate 65, Long term 200?
Also is the long term rating on UUU correct? Seems like it should be positive.
Thanks, not trying to be a pain in the rear, just keep trying to learn.
Thanks again.
The question of definition of time periods is somewhat lengthy so I think I'll leave it as a post on the main page, hopefully later today.
As for the UUU long term rating, I combine several different technical indicators to arrive at a final rating. They differ slightly in the Weekly and Daily Table but are usually similar. This is a proprietary technique. If you ONLY take the moving average then you are correct that UUU should be POS. However, other indicators were not as positive at the time of the Table and the final rating was one notch below a full POS, at + NEUTRAL.
