BASIC NOTES

Uranium Companies

There are very few pure uranium companies. Most companies, especially the small exploration type, are active in more than the uranium industry. This blog makes no attempt to guage the percentage of a companies activity that are related to the finding, mining or processing of uraniun. They all do, however, have some uranium activities (to the best of our review).

Merv's Uranium Indices

I have developed two Uranium Indices. They each have the same component stocks but are calculated using different methodologies. My weekly Index is based upon the average weekly performance of the component stocks. My daily Index is based upon the daily average of the component stocks open, high, low and close prices along with the daily average volume of all component stocks.

Periodic Review of Reviews 15 Nov 2007

The following is a brief one or two sentence update to previous individual stock reviews.
Cameco: Negative volume, negative momentum and negative moving average. May be heading back to previous $38 support.

Altius: Serious negative divergence in the momentum and volume versus price action. Moving average still positive but negative warnings are getting louder.

Gravity West: All indicators positive but move has now entered a zone of resistance from earlier action. Some consolidation expected.

Uranium One: Everything is negative and lower prices expected.

East Asia: Volume and moving average still positive, as is momentum, but momentum is giving warning of weakening.

El Nino: Looks like it wants to move higher but weak uranium environment may be affecting activity.

Fronteer Development: Indicators all positive but overall market may hamper advance.

Xemplar: All indicators remain positive but momentum just coming off its overbought zone so some consolidation of previous advance is taking place.

Belmont: Continues to consolidate and build a base but not yet moving. May be a good bottom fisher around here.

Paladin: Volume neutral, momentum just dropped inside its negative zone but moving average still positive. Action may go more into a lateral trend then up or down, for a while.

Bitterroot: Above its moving average but other indicators are not yet positive. May be waiting for the next bullish environment.

Consolidated Pacific Bay: All indicators are positive. Price may be going through a consolidation of previous move.

Kodiak: Long expected consolidation of previous move in progress. Momentum coming off its overbought zone and volume now moving laterally. More consolidation expected.

RPT Uranium: Positive volume action but momentum still in its negative zone. Price still needs to break above $0.40 resistance.

Anglo-Canadian Uranium: Continuing in its lateral base building and still requires a move through $0.40 to get going.

USEC: Bottoming action continues but no break-out yet. Heading towards bottom-fisher levels.

Uranium Energy: Still looking good but probably requires the general uranium environment to improve.
